Azure DevOps is Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that provides developer services to support teams to plan work, collaborate on code, and build and deploy applications.

This product was previously known as Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) and went through a major rebranding in 2019.

As part of the rebranding, we needed to modernize our customer-facing emails. I was the sole developer on the project, which involved conceptualizing, roadmapping, and implementing the changes. These changes improved our delivery rates by reducing email delivery failures to less than 0.3%.

Email Modernization

As part of the Azure DevOps rebranding, we needed to modernize our customer-facing emails. I was the sole developer on the project, which involved conceptualizing, roadmapping, and implementing the changes. I also worked with teams across different regions to help them integrate with the new email platform.

These changes improved our delivery rates by reducing email delivery failures to less than 0.3%.

In addition to refreshing the look of our customer communications, the modernization of our email platform made it possible to send messages to customers much faster than we were able to before. The increase in message-sending speed was particularly effective when the team had to notify customers of potential security issues.

Azure DevOps Women

I gained the trust of senior executives at Microsoft - including the Corporate Vice President of the Developer Services organization - to obtain funding for diversity and inclusion initiatives.

One of the recruitment events I organized was in partnership with Seattle Girl Geek Dinner - group of women in technology whose goal is to create an informal space in which technical girls and women of all ages can connect with other members of our local community.
